MacFixIt reader "RM" reports that after installing the iTunes 8.2.1 update on their MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.4.11 iTunes opens but does not respond to any processes.

MacFixIt reader "RM" writes:

"I'm running a Macbook pro with osx 10.4.11. I just installed the new iTunes update, and now my iTunes doesnt work! The program opens up, but as soon as I click on the window, a song, a folder, the menu bar, ANYTHING....the application stops responding. I tried downloading and installing again, restarting....nothing works!!!"
Possible solutions
If you are experiencing similar issues, try repairing permissions using Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities). Install a fresh download of the update and repair permissions again. Restart your computer.

If the issue persists, try a more robust disk checking utility like Onyx. Of course, MacFixIt always recommends having a complete and stable backup before installing any updates or beginning any troubleshooting processes.
