Microsoft Component Library hassles: a follow-up

CNET staff
Regarding our report last time on solving problems with needing multiple versions of Microsoft Component Library, Whit Patrick writes that the suggested solution may work - unless you are using Microsoft Outlook for Macintosh Exchange Server Edition 8.2. Outlook requires yet another version of Microsoft Component Library, version 2.25. If it is not in the Extensions folder, Outlook will not launch. Michael White similarly notes: "Exchange client 8.22 installs Microsoft Component Library v2.25 which contains bug fixes for Outlook. Neither Office or Explorer like it; they may launch a First Run installer and reinstall an older version of the Library." Update: Several readers have replied that the 2.25 version remains installed on their Macs and works fine with all other Microsoft software also on their drive.
