MacMedic 1.2 patch is out; MacMedic 1.5 also released

MacMedic 1.2 is out. It is a free upgrade for 1.1 users. It adds the promised defragment/optimization feature.

MacMedic 1.5 is almost ready to ship (the web page may not list it yet). Its several new features include:

• Data Scrub. A new recovery method when searching for lost data based on the catalog tree fragments is ineffective or results in no data found.
• HFS to HFS Plus conversion. SpaceMaker is now incorporated it into MacMedic.
• Media Verification. Allows scanning of media for bad/damaged media.
• DiskScrub. This will allow a user to completely rebuild a disk that has been destroyed by another disk utility.
