Mac OS 9.0.x compatibility with DiskWarrior, TechTool Pro

CNET staff
DiskWarrior Rusell Laeufer found that DiskWarrior 2.0 was incompatible with Mac OS 9.0.2, as shipped with his new Power Mac G4. When booting up, the extension is crossed out. We asked AlSoft about this and they replied: In anticipation of the release of Mac OS 9.0.2, we began shipping version 2.0.1 of the DiskWarrior extension to provide 9.0.2 compatibility. The 2.0.1 DiskWarrior extension first shipped on February 7, so most users should actually have a version that works with the new machines that ship with 9.0.2. If a registered user has an earlier version of the DiskWarrior extension and they upgrade their hardware to a new machine with 9.0.2 installed, they can contact our tech support to get a new copy of the extension. They should provide their serial number when contacting us. When an update to Mac OS 9.0 is available for all Macs, we will provide an updater for the 2.0 version of the DiskWarrior extension. Those users that haven't upgraded their Mac to one that requires Mac OS 9.0.2 should wait for the updater to be released. TechTool Pro MicroMat reports: "We are working on the update right now to v2.5.4 which should be available soon." It will be fully compatible with Mac OS 9.0.x.
