iMac EFI Firmware Update 1.3: resolves FireWire issues

Although Apple has played coy with the specific enhancements brought about by its recent EFI firmware updates, reports of notable improvements are trickling in. Users are now reporting that the iMac update resolves some longstanding FireWire issues.

One reader writes:

"The new firmware update has fixed a long standing Firewire problem on my Aluminum 2.4 20" iMac. I was not able to get any of my firewire peripherals to be recognized, even a 3rd generation iPod. Now after the update everything is just peachy."
