HyperCard and HFS Plus problem?

Ian Pun writes: "In HyperCard 2.1, 2.3 or 2.4, when running Mac OS 8.1 with HFS Plus on my PowerBook G3 series with a 4 GB drive, I get a message that says 'Failed to create stack. Disk is full' when I try to create a new stack. HyperCard similarly reports 'Failed to compact stack. Disk is full' when I try to compact an existing stack. However, if I put the stack on a disk without HFS Plus, it works fine. Apparently, HyperCard does not work on HFS Plus partitions greater than 2 GB in size. Apple is promising a 2.4.1 update soon which will fix this problem."

Update: Two readers, both using volumes greater than 2 GB, have already reported not having any of these problems. I am beginning to suspect that the reported problem is not a common one.
