HP LaserJet 2200 "unexpected error"

Flip Phillip informs us: "My HP LaserJet 2200dse USB printer, despite being advertised as compatible with Mac OS X, has some trouble. When attempting to add the printer via the Print Center, the add operation times out with an 'unexpected error -9621.' I called HP Support about this and they confirmed that some (not all) users are reporting the same error."
