GoMac 1.5 problems

GoMac and Kaleidoscope conflict Andrew Posner writes that "when attempting to use spring loaded folders, the cursor vanishes. I had to force quit the Finder for it to reappear, and then cancel the force quit." Conflict Catcher confirmed that the problem was due to a conflict between GoMac 1.5 and Kaleidoscope 1.8.2. William Martin had the same problem. He notes that the cursor is still there and works; you just can't see it. Restarting solved the problem temporarily. William adds: "I contacted the Proteron people who wrote back to me that it is a conflict that they are aware of with Kaleidoscope, and that they are working directly with Greg Landweber to remedy it."

Update: Scott Boettcher writes: "If you use the Auto Hide option in GoMac, the spring-loaded folder bug does not appear. I can confirm that this combination does cause the cursor to disappear normally. However, you don't need to do anything so drastic as force quit or restart. When the cursor disappears type a letter of one of the files within that window. Then either Get Info or Open that item (folders work well) and the cursor returns."

GoMac and display resolution problem Cesar Cintron and Dimitris Sakellariou report a similar problem. They both have their AppleVision monitors set to 1152x870 resolution. However, when playing any game that automatically switches the resolution to 640x480, problems occur after quitting the game and having the monitor attempt to revert to its previous resolution. Cesar writes: "The result was that I would get an 1152x870 screen but the bottom half was black and the cursor could not move into the black portion." Dimitris writes: "When the game closes and the resolution changes back to 1152x870, GoMac bar is in the middle of the screen I am unable to go beneath that line. I have to manually (Control Strip) change to another resolution and back again."

Update: I have received a detailed reply from Proteron on GoMac issues and will be reporting on this next time.
