FAXstf 5.1 is out; readers report Apple Menu Items "scare"

FAXstf 5.1 "will update any FAXstf 5.0 and FAXstf 5.0.x Apple bundle and Home Edition 5.0 software to 5.1. It addresses many issues reported with the software." It is not for FAXstf 5.0 Pro.

Two readers (Howard Nelson and Andy Barton) report that, after installing this update and restarting, the entire contents of their Apple Menu Items folder was moved to a new folder called FAXstf 5.1 in the System Folder. No permanent harm was done, as they simply moved the files back to Apple Menu Items again. Still, it can be a bit scary to see, until you realize the files have not really been deleted.

Update: Kuba Tatarkiewicz adds: "In my case it was Utilities folder which was renamed to FAXstf 5.1 - seems that the updater looks for the main fax application and then renames the folder in which is is found. That's why some people, who placed the application into Apple Menu, experience it differently."
