Connectix replies: Virtual PC okay with Mac OS 9.2

CNET staff
Last week, we posted an item citing a Connectix Tech Support assertion that the current version of Virtual PC is not "certified" to run under Mac OS 9.2. Teresa Mahler (Virtual PC Product Manager) replies:

"I would like to correct the inaccurate information that was given by our support representative. The Virtual PC team is not aware of any issues between Virtual PC version 4.0.2 and Mac OS 9.2. In fact, several of our engineers are currently developing on the new QuickSilver PowerMac G4s running Mac OS 9.2."

At the same time, we received yet another email from a Paul Leber stating: "VPC 4 is both extremely sluggish on shutdown and unpredictable on boot on my recently purchased 867 MHz QuickSilver running OS 9.2. I called Connectix tech support and was told that VPC 4 operation under 9.2 on a hard drive that has OS X installed is not supported." We asked Teresa for any further comment on this second report. She replied that their QA department will look into this further.
