Confirmation for GarageBand audio fix

Confirmation for GarageBand audio fix

CNET staff

We previously reported on a situation where absent audio in a number of third-party applications was restored by simply running the application GarageBand.

We've since received several notes of confirmation for this fix.

MacFixIt reader Michael Riccioli writes:

"Had no sound coming out of real audio when trying to listen to BBC radio, and I found the messag which advised users to launch Garageband. ...and it worked!"

Trev adds "Mac OS X 10.3.7 iMac G5 1.8 17" with 768. Noticed audio was broken when playing Call of Duy. The Garageband fix worked for me."

Finally, MacFixIt reader Hirocy writes: "I was also troubled with absent audio in QuickTime Player, RealPlayer, Windows Media Player and so on. But, as your article says, launching GarageBand restored it! They work well now."
