Communicator 4.5 PR1 is out

Netscape Communicator 4.5 Preview Release 1 is now available. Check here for Release Notes. (Thanks, Mac Treasure Tracing Club and Version Tracker.)

This version is for PowerPC Macs only. It also now includes AOL Instant Messenger. If you don't want this addition, a reader reports that you can delete it by "deleting the AIM Module folder prior to running the installer, and clicking Skip during the installation process."

Update: Steve Dagley adds: "It's been noted that Beta 1 Communicator 4.5 is PowePC only. I'd like to clarify that this is not just a limitation of the beta. There will not be a 68K version of Communicator 4.5. There will however be an additional update to the 4.0x version of Navigator/Communicator which will run on 68K."
