ColorSync 2.6: possible problems

Readers are reporting a widevariety of problems associated with the recently released Apple ColorSync 2.6 software. However, as I have not yet gotten two reports of the exact same problem, I hesitate to post too many specifics. Overall, most reports revolve around printing problems or startup crashes. For example, Stephen Dampier found that, after installing ColorSync 2.6, the Chooser no longer listed the printer profiles for 's HP DesignJet plotters. In one case of a startup crash on a PowerBook 3400, Derek Matthew speculated that Color Sync 2.6 may not be compatible with password security. In all cases, disabling ColorSync 2.6 resolved the problem.
