<b>StuffIt 4.5 corrupts PDF downloads?

Mark Sarowitz was having problems with downloaded stuffed Acrobat PDF files. Namely, after unstuffing them, they could not be successfully opened in Acrobat. They would be reported as damaged or be unreadable.

Mark eventually discovered a report on the Westcode web site that traced the origin of the problem to Aladdin's StuffIt 4.5.x software: "The problem with the PDF files is not with the files but with unstuffing process. Due to some change in Aladdin's StuffIt software, the User's Guide and Scripting Manual PDFs were unreadable when decoded with StuffIt Deluxe or StuffIt Expander 4.5.x. Earlier versions of StuffIt will decode the files correctly."
