Apple to hold special media event next week

Macworld reports that Apple will hold a special media event next week, presumably to introduce new product(s), just after announcing quarterly earnings the day prior.

An invitation sent to the press on Tuesday shows closed theater curtains with the words "One more thing..." written on top, Macworld reports.

Macworld UK reports that there will be a corresponding invitation-only event in London.

The UK mag also speculates "While Apple isn't talking, increasing iPod-related chatter suggests some kind of major news within that category: equally, there's more to Apple than just the iPod, and its move to Intel processors next year promises a host of slick, new Macs in future."

The event will take place at 10:00 a.m. PST, October 12 at the California Theater in San Jose.
