Apple Responds to iPod Remote Issue

Apple has posted a Knowledge Base article, #106961, offering further explanation of the iPod remote control problems noted on MacFixIt yesterday. The note describes the problem: "When you insert the iPod remote into the headphones sound output port, iPod turns on and plays music through the headphones, but the remote buttons do not control iPod," and offers a two-step potential workaround:

1. Make sure the iPod remote hold switch is turned off. Slide the hold switch on the right side of the remote up so the green mark is visible.
2. Reinsert the iPod remote jack. Make sure it is fully inserted by gently twisting the plug while pushing down.
