Apple Java 1.3.1 update 1: More reader feedback

CNET staff
Although most feedback on the just released Apple Java 1.3.1 update 1 has been positive, we do have a few reports of problems, so far unconfirmed (see previous item). For example:

Rob Spruhde found "a display glitch in Disk Utility. I open Disk Utility and select my hard drive. Then I click the triangle to reveal my separate partitions(5). None of the individual partition drive names are displayed in the left hand side menu."

Jerry McCullen writes: "The Java update breaks my ability to use Java based chat rooms in Explorer - by not advancing automatically when the chat lines reaches the bottom of the screen. Formerly when the chat reached the bottom of the screen, the last entry automatically advanced upwards now it does not. Navigator, Opera, iCab and OmniWeb still do not even allow entry to these chat rooms."

Dave Hanks adds: "At first, all worked fine after upgrading my Pismo PowerBook. Then FileMaker started to print blank pages. Office X still prints fine. Pages print fine even in FileMaker when I revert to a G4 that does not yet have the Java update installed. However, after deleting the printers in Print Center and adding them back, everything now works."
