CNET staff
TypeStyler 3 enhanced Strider Software announced that TypeStyler 3, its special effects type design program, has added support for PDF, Flash, QuickTime and CMYK Encapsulated PostScript. The new features will be in an update (free to users of TypeStyler 3.46 and later) which should be available in the next few weeks. The update will also include some minor bug fixes.

FontSense and Font Reserve Server announced DiamondSoft Inc. announced Font Sense, "a new technology designed to revolutionize and standardize the way applications save font information with documents, and to enable accurate automatic font activation. With Font Sense technology, print publishers may finally realize an ideal workflow: To open a document in any application, have the correct fonts activate with it, and print the document without error. Until now, this seamless workflow has encountered two major roadblocks: (1) different fonts have exactly the same name and (2) applications remember only font names."

DiamondSoft also announced Font Reserve Server, a client-server version of its font management program. Font Reserve Server will allow multiple users to share, access, activate, and use fonts from a single source.
