The good times keep rolling We continue to get glowing reports about the new AirPort Software 1.1 update: Bruce Perry writes: "I know that Apple says that the software only works with an AirPort or a Lucent WaveLAN card. However, I have a Skyline card for my PowerBook G3. Well...no problem. The AirPort update installed completely. A quick change to the Location Manager and I was able to update the Base Station using the Skyline (version 1.1). This is too good to be true!" Alex Rose writes: "Wireless Internet rules! I don't have a Base Station, but I do have an AirPort card in my iBook and in my G4 400. I set the G4 up as a Software Base Station very easily using the Assistant. I am now cruising the 'net from every room in my house." AirPort AP based on IPNetRouter Richard Chang noticed that the icon for the new AirPort AP extension is the same as the one for IPNetRouter by Sustainable Softworks. Indeed, when I checked with Conflict Catcher, the extension description says "Portions copyright by Sustainable Softworks." And the description for the related AirPort AP Support file suggests that it is just a renamed (and possibly modified) version of Sustainable's OTModl$Proxy extension. This all confirms our previous report. WaveLAN eject problem? Both Rich Brown and Richard Chang report that they could not get their Lucent WaveLAN card to eject from their Power Book G3s (even if they switched their TCP/IP and AppleTalk settings to not use the card, which was what worked with the previous version of the AirPort Software). Richard Chang found that a work-around was to disable the AirPort Control Strip Module.
