AirPort connectivity issues A handful of users are reporting problems connecting to AirPort networks after applying the AirPort Extreme 2006-001 update.

One reader writes:

"I installed the update from Software Update and restarted. I get an IP like normal but I cannot get anything off the internet. I can't even get my router page to come up. I didn't have anything connected or running when I ran the update. When I connect via Ethernet cable, everything works fine."

Sleep/keyboard oddities MacFixIt reader Neil Busis reports an odd issue where he cannot use his Bluetooth keyboard and mouse while his MacBook Pro's lid is closed to be put to sleep and an external display is in use. However, the keyboard and mouse do function properly when the MacBook Pro is manually put to sleep under the same circumstances.

Neil writes:

"I use an external Apple 20 inch monitor. After starting up, I routinely put the MacBook Pro display to sleep by closing the lid on the computer and just use the external monitor after waking the computer up via an external bluetooth keyboard. AFter applying the update, closing the Mac Book will not put the computer to sleep completely - the external monitor screen continues to display the desktop, but the bluetooth mouse cursor disappears and both the external keyboard and the laptop keyboard don't work. I have to power down using the power switch on the Mac Book. If I restart then manually put the laptop to sleep by picking "Sleep" from the Apple menu, I can wake up the external monitor and use the external keyboard and mouse as before."

If you are having a similar issue, it may not be directly caused by the update. Try restarting a few times and see if the issue resolves itself.
