Adobe SVG Viewer 1.0 is a plug-in that your Web browser can use to render SVG images. As noted on this page: "The Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) format is an open-standard vector graphics language that lets you design Web pages with high-resolution graphics that can contain sophisticated elements, such as gradients, animation, and filter effects, using plain text commands." Another quote explains: "Unlike the bitmap formats that now dominate Web graphics (GIF, JPEG), SVG is a vector format, so graphics are zoomable and remain crisp at any size." According to Adobe, the demos do not work with Internet Explorer 5.0. This page explains that, with Internet Explorer 5.0, "JavaScript in your HTML cannot access any embedded SVG, and similarly, JavaScript in your SVG files will not execute." None-the-less, Mack Willingham writes: "I have had no problems with the demos. I only played with the Moscow map, but all the features seemed to work as advertised."
