21 inch Studio Display: Crashing problems due to USB hub?; blurry screen

Errors related to USB on display? Tim Frantz was getting frequent system crashes (Finder quits with other Type 3 or 11 errors). He also had a problem where an attempt to calibrate his 21 inch Studio Display would halt with an error message prior to the calibration completing (see also this item on Apple's Tech Exchange). Apple Tech Support told him that the likely cause was a faulty USB hub in the monitor. Not using the hub was a suggested work-around. Otherwise, Apple said they would replace the hub with a revised version. Blurry display Another frequently reported problem (see tech Exchange items one and two) with the 21 inch display blurriness in at least some parts of the screen at higher resolutions. We have seen this on our Studio Display at 1152x870 - although the symptoms were mild enough that we could usually ignore them. In any case, Apple states that the only way to fix this is to take the display in for repair. Note: The 21 inch Studio Display is now a discontinued model.
