iPublish wants e-books in many formats

AOL Time Warner's iPublish.com and electronic publisher Texterity have inked a deal to make e-books available to retailers in numerous formats. Texterity will use its TextCafe technology to convert and distribute all Time Warner Trade Publishing imprints, including Warner Books and Little Brown. It will also format novels selected from submissions to iWrite, an online writer community that provides a venue for aspiring authors.

Texterity said it will convert files into the open e-book format, enabling the distribution for the Microsoft Reader, Adobe e-book, Palm/Peanut Reader, Gemstar REB-1100 and REB-1200 and other e-book hardware and software. Distributors will include Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com, Lightning Source, Gemstar, Palm and Reciprocal.
