iPhrase garners $25 million in funding

Search technology company iPhrase announced on Monday that it has received $25 million in second-round venture funding. Reed Elsevier Ventures, whose parent company owns data archive Lexis-Nexis, led the round. Other investors included TD Capital Technology Ventures, RSA Ventures and Sequoia Capital.

Cambridge, Mass.-based iPhrase received $11 million in its first round of funding last May from Sequoia and other venture capital companies. In May, Charles Schwab introduced a new search system based on iPhrase technology that enables customers to search the site using natural phrases and commands.
