eEye sees defense contract win

Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based eEye Digital Security has picked up a contract worth up to $6 million to provide a vulnerability management system to the Defense Information Systems Agency, the company said on Wednesday. The Department of Defense contract requests that eEye provide a tool to allow network administrators a way of checking that critical software patches have been applied to systems connected to the network.

The Department of Homeland Security granted a similar contract for up to $10.8 million to two companies in 2002. An eEye representative said that its deployment is one of the largest to date.
