The problem with low-cost-high-shipping sellers can be eliminated. But first, why don't they enforce their own selling policy that prohibits under-pricing items and overcharging shipping. I can buy a CRT monitor for $10.00! But I have to pay $69.00 for shipping! I live in Indiana and purchase Computer components from California on a regular basis. I can get 2 complete computer systems and pay less than $69.00 shipping. Where are the eBay Police to enforce their policies? I've turned in 2 sellers with outragous shipping charges (with very low selling prices) that was 4 months ago, and the seller is still abusing the program. The problem with low-cost-high-shipping sellers is fixed with eBay charging an overall lower percentage selling fee for the total sale that INCLUDES shipping. This will get the scammers that aren't paying their fare share. Their current solution only taxes the honest sellers!!!!
Also their problem with non-payers, can be solved with a seller escrow account of say $5.00 to be held for each buyer. If you back out on a bid, you lose the $5.00 from escrow. To be reinstated as a buyer then your escrow goes up to $25.00 all at risk buy a second no-pay. Third try as a buyer costs $100.00 to escrow, all at risk. Your 3rd non-pay, forever bye-bye buyer.
Too bad that eBay is so stupid, that they don't understand that their current price increases will only slow their growth (these guys/gals must be Democrats) see Reaganomics 101. I know that my selling efforts are going to be reduced as of today. Why should the sellers increase the cost of their risk, when eBay's management won't take of the problem where the problem is? Basicly a vote of no-confidience by the sellers.
Maybe a one or two week boycott will get their attention.
After the 18 we are eliminating the gallery image.
We are also eliminating the buy it know and place a link on the ad to send the viewer to the store.
We pay eBay around 2000 a month for listing and selling fees.
If one million sellers do not use for one month the Gallery and the sellers list and average of 1000 items! that means ebay is going to loose 350 Million dollars per month.
Remember Everything is numbers 1000 items X 0.35 = $350.00 per seller so 100000 sellers X$350.00 =$35,000,000 Dollars
x 12 that is 420 Million dollars a year and that is only 100000 sellers!
I am doing my part I won't do gallery anymore.
If they see a drop in their buttom line$$$$$$ perhaps they will reconsider.

I thought that you may find this letter I received from Ebay very interesting. Ebay reported on their huge earnings in their fourth quarter and raised their prices but apparently, by this letter I received; they don't want to provide service to their customers:
Hello atticonline,
I noticed that you posted eBay's phone number on an eBay Board. Since eBay
does not have the staff to handle large quantities of incoming phone calls,
and increasing our staffing levels to handle an increasing number of calls
would not be cost-effective, we would greatly appreciate it if you would
refrain from providing the number to others, especially in public forums such
as discussion boards and chat rooms.
We certainly appreciate your willingness to provide help to other users
and I know that providing the phone number seems like the correct thing to do,
especially when a user appears to need emergency help; however, providing the
number to large groups is counter-productive. Since we don't have the staff to
handle these calls it only increases the frustration levels of both members
and staff.
Thanks for understanding that I had to remove the post and send this
request on to you. I know you were only trying to help out. :)

I'm also trying some different venues to list my items. I have listed my auctions on Ebay for a good many years and now have just found that these fees are so high that it's not worth my time.
Best regards,
Louise
I will not be doing business with e-bay after a lot of years. They are overcharging on a lot of fees and it is up to us the customer to say enough!! If they lose enough customers then their powersellers are going to hurt. I myself am going to try some other on-line auctions.
It's a bit of a big step to consider that www.ebay.com will ever change their service to be in line with other prices. They ARE the big name in auctions, and can probably get away with it.
