eBay takes stake in iPix

eBay has taken a 10.7 percent stake in Internet Pictures (iPix), a maker of imaging technology that allows pictures to be seen over the Internet, including panoramic views. According to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, eBay bought 800,000 shares of iPix. The San Ramon, Calif.-based company sells mainly to merchants in the travel, real estate, and automotive industries that display their wares online. eBay offers iPix to auctioneers to enable them to post photos of their auction goods.
