eBay signs deal with ticket site

OnlineTickets.com is helping brokers sell event tickets on eBay under a multiyear agreement the companies announced Wednesday. As part of the agreement, eBay will promote OnlineTickets' store on the auction site, the companies said. OnlineTickets provides software that links some 22 U.S. ticket brokers with consumers shopping for hard-to-find tickets to concerts and games, OnlineTickets President Ali Fazeli said. Under the deal, which allows the brokers to list their tickets on the auction site by selecting an option on OnlineTickets' software, the brokers have listed "thousands" of tickets on eBay, Fazeli said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

eBay has been focusing on increasing ticket sales. Last month, the online auction giant inked a deal with LiquidSeats to promote its StubHub Network and its sales of tickets to theater and sporting events. eBay is also beta-testing a travel site with Priceline.com that offers airline tickets.

Ticket Stub & Ebay - Dishonest Practices
by June 26, 2004 4:48 PM PDT
Today I purchased tickets to a Yankee game at the Stadium. Boy was I taken. The tickets were advertised as behind home plate in section 8 - Section 8 is MVP reserved field level seating. So I processed the transaction. Double checking I found that there is a Tier ( Upper Grandstand) Section 8. Now I see what happened. The seller did not specify tier level and I am up where the birds don't want to fly. I immediately call but Ticket Stub does not pick up until 11:00AM PST - Weekend Hours. I leave a message I don't want the tickets up with the birds, please cancel. I email all within 15 to 30 minutes or less of the transaction. Finally latter in the day I get through to a human. The girl was more like a robotic recording "sorry we can't do anything -all sales are final" I asked for a supervisor. "Sorry no one is here."

So I ask should not the ticket locations be more exactly described? Should not Ticket Stub have it in there power to cancel the sale under these deceptive seller practices ?

So Ebay would be well advised to stay away from the Ticket Stub broker business.
