They left out of the blame portion of suit the people even more closely related to the problem, namely the boy's parents who should have been overseeing their son's activities and associations more closely so their son wouldn't have been molested in the first place.

Yahoo cant watch everything

They have a free website/groups system. They cant constantly monitor everything. If they were upset, they should have just reported it and had it taken down.

$10 Million for it being online 2 months?
by sarcasticmama May 13, 2005 8:19 AM PDT
Doesn't the FBI usually take longer than 2 months to do a complete investigation of any other child porn online? I think 2 months is a very acceptable time for yahoo to have had the investigation completed and the site taken down. Where were the parents when the child's picture was being taken by the neighbor? Why not go after him for the child porn?? I'm so sick of hearing about people suing big companies for outragous sums of $$. I hope their gree gets them in the end!

Thief to sue homeowners?
by May 13, 2005 9:39 AM PDT
This backwards story is like a thief saying "Well, I'm suing Joe
Homeowner because he left is window unlocked which allowed me
to steal his stereo. I did jail time for that, so Joe is to blame."

Give me a break.
