Yahoo, Sony roll film on marketing deal

Yahoo and Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment have signed a deal to promote some new Sony Pictures films across the Web portal's network. The first film will be "Riding in Cars with Boys," starring Drew Barrymore and directed by Penny Marshall, which opens Friday. Yahoo Movies will provide show times and online ticketing as well as behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, trailers and still-shots. Yahoo Auctions will also offer film fans a chance to bid on wardrobe items.

The next film scheduled for online promotion is "Ali," which opens Christmas Day, and stars Will Smith. Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment is a unit of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
