Yahoo, ET wired together

Expanding its Hollywood ties, Yahoo on Monday aligned with Entertainment Tonight to host the TV newsmagazine's Web site and related promotional sites. Under the agreement, Yahoo will produce and host at least eight major entertainment industry event sites, including the 55th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, on Yahoo Entertainment. Although it did not disclose financial terms and length of the deal, Yahoo said it would sell advertising for the site. "As more and more people are turning to the Internet as a source for their entertainment news and information, this relationship helps meet the growing demand for information," said Jim Moloshok, senior vice president of Yahoo's media and information unit.

In a separate announcement Monday, Yahoo said it teamed with Qwest Communications to promote its wireless phone products online and via its broadband video service, Launch.
