Xaware banks in $2.1 million

Xaware announced Thursday it received a $2.1 million first round of funding, led by ITU Ventures. Other investors included Gefinor Ventures, company Chief Executive Bill Miller and former Sun Microsystems executive Janpieter Scheerder.

The Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Xaware develops software tools and components designed to reduce the complexities of accessing and integrating data from different sources.
