What about the PS3 shortage ; )
I could have sworn I read Sony saying they had a shortage of PS3 because of the brisk demand they had. I didn't believe it then.

What a bunch of spin Sony has spun.

There was at launch, but not anymore!
Up here in Montreal Quebec, there isn't a PS3 shortage at all! If I go to Walmart, Best Buy or EBgames... there's Playstation 3 consoles everywhere! But Wii? the only reason I don't own a Wii yet is because they are still back-order! Okay okay, I admit I never left a deposit to reserve one, but I don't mind. One day if I find a Wii for sale, I'll buy it. No need to reserve. But if you want a PS3, come up here to Canada, there's tons that no one wants to buy!

Maybe my math is off
Wii is #1 yet

Wii 259,000
PS2 280,000

Hmmmmm. And don't say because Wii is next gen because it isn't and that even going by what the head of Nintendo says.

Wii is no better graphically than PS2 or XBOX. Yeah yeah graphics aren't eveything. Then fine, why spend $250 on a Wii when you can get a PS2 half that? More games and they are cheaper too. Tons of games for the PS2 for under $25. Can you get a Wii game for under $50? And it has a gimmicky controller that does NOT look like fun to me.

can we stop the war
Stop trying to call winners and losers. Most of you claim Wii is the winner and many say ps3 is the loser. By sales figures pure and simple ps2 sells more than every system. This last gen system seems to be the real victor. And, yes the ps3 is 600$ but you don't see sony out to change that price any time soon. They know what they have on their hands and how to market and sell it. Sales for ps3's are rising every month. On top of that PS3 shortage means that EVERY store needs an on hand supply of 20. EVERY STORE.... And since none of you have been to every store in the country, you can just stop your "factifying" of personal opinion. Let us just all focus on the facts and none of us will look stupid when a console does actually win.....

sony is not the loser
your absolutly right. I think a lot of people forget that this is not a 100 m sprint, this is a marathon. And sony is raceing the smarter race. Keeping playstation 2 alive was the smartest thing that the company could do. When you combine the sales of ps2 and ps3 together they are way ahead of the both nintendo and microsoft.
