I'll upgrade my PC again later and that will continue to be my main gaming source, but with friends and family over, the Wii is nothing but entertaining. 4 people grouped up playing tennis is much better than 3 people watching you play Final Fantasy.
against Sony and even Microsoft. However, of the three they truly
have a next-gen system. Sony and Microsoft are too focused on
their products becoming central media hubs with a hefty price tag
while Nintendo simply gives the user what they want; an innovative
gaming console! Kudos to Nintendo.
Anyways, more stuff better for the market place and the consumer, forces companies to think harder... moves things going. All I know that I also have the WiFi built in, so my PSP connects to the PS3 as well, and my wireless router, so I get internet on it too.
Lots of cool games out now and many more to come...
Take care, I played Wii and it seemed fun, but kinda cheesy graphics.
The shift to better and better graphics has put true innovation and fun gameplay on the back burner. This is why a game like world of warcraft is a failure. It is more of the same over and over for 70 levels. There is nothing new, just a rehash of EQ, with a few less time sinks. Consoles are even worse in this regard.
This is why wii is outselling PS3 and XBOX. It is reasonably priced, has decent graphics and a whole lot of outstanding games, including classic Nintendo games from the 80's, most of which are better games then the majority of what has been released in the past few years. That is when gameplay mattered.
Today, the graphic advances seem to exist into tricking easily fooled people into thinking it is a great game because it is pretty. It takes much more effort to come up with innovative, engaging gameplay.
As more and more people go HD the PS3 sales will pick up.
The Wii will be my primary gaming platform for the foreseeable future. It's like a comfy pair of sweats; you just put it on and you are right at home. It's a no-brainer; you just turn it on and go at it. Even the simple stuff is very addicting; I have 30 minutes to box in Wii Sports and 2 hours later my wife is yelling at me. What a workout I tell ya! And if you think the Wii is for the dumb try Big Brain Academy; you surely feel stupid after playing a few rounds on it. As for the big titles I finished Zelda in 60 hours; no record but very fun especially with my boy figuring out the puzzles with me.
Nintendo certainly hit the sweet spot with the Wii. I can?t wait to see what they think of next!
the Wii???
All consoles and portables are only as good as the games made for them,if the games suck the system is doomed-it is that simple.
The Wiis success is that it is both affordable and has FUN games, now i know Playstation3 fans are saying NO WAY,but it is true, the games are fun and some are fairly addictive.
The PS3 has only a few FUN games but because of the steep price to buy the system most people just will not buy,it is too expensive at this time what with gasoline costing a small fortune and food cost rising so fast it makes most of us sick with worry.
If the PS3 drops in price then more people will buy it BUT sony needs to hurry up before it loses most of it's 3rd party support,it has lost a fair amount so far and if you really think about WHAT made the PS1 and PS2 so popular you will see it was the sheer number of 3rd paty games being made for it.
Simply put "it had something for everyone",the choices with the PS2 were almost limitless,i know i for one could not keep up with all the games I wanted to buy and i am still playing games for the PS2 that i bought new and have not yet opened.
So i am like many people out there i am a fan of multible systems from multible companies,i plan to buy all 3 systems when i can afford them and will enjoy each for what they have to offer.
Have a happy 4th of July! : )
