I have no problem with those who choose to use a mind altering substance. Once you are of legal age, society can only hope that you have been educated against such foolishness.
To spend millions of dollars to counter the intelligence and knowledge of young adults is simply evil.
I equate a pusher passing out samples of meth to be morally equal to brainwashing children in thinking they must take drugs, (OUR BRAND of Deadly Tobacco Smoking Units will make you COOLER!!!) Remember that until just a few years ago, cigarette companies spent millions on freestanding point of purchase displays with loose packs of cigarettes displayed on Kwik-E-Mart floors out of cashier's site. These displays were designed specifically to make it easy for little kids to steal cigarettes.
When states passed laws requiring cigarettes be put behind the counter, the tobacco companies turned to product placement, suddenly the good guys in movies are smoking again.
There is a big difference between alcohol and tobacco, of course. Cigarettes take decades to kill 30% their users. Alcohol usually just destroys the lives without killing, with the occasional car full of kids being scraped off a freeway somewhere.
Just for the record, methamphetamines kill in about 2 years.
Making drugs Illegal simply won't work. Alcohol prohibition gave us the Mafia. Heroin/opium/hash prohibition provides major funding to our enemies.
KEEP beer legal! But prohibit advertising and branding.
