1920x1080 might be technically "hi-def", but that doesn't mean it's "hi-quality".

proprietary one? Actually, MS probably had no choice since they
could never have any significant contribution to the Blu-Ray/
H.264 program which many other content providers are
promoting.
So it's WB/MS vs Sony and everyone else.This could be most
interesting to watch for developmentsm and for multi-format
blue laser DVD products.
I have not seen anything which actually supports MS's claims for
WIndows Media 9. Very few of the video files I've encountered
use it. VLC, QuickTime, and MPlayer seem to be relatively
common and dominant. RM is mostly to be ignored. So if WM9 is
worth keeping, I guess I'd expect a lot more people would be
using it......, and they aren't.
