Goverment isn't the answer...
Government controls are not the answer. If users are really going to loose confidence, security companies will pick up the pieces and make money selling a confidence boosting product.

Let the free commercial market do it's thing.

Bigger problems than the Net.......
I agree, Governmental regulation will achieve little.

If Governments are concerned about their citizens being scammed, perhaps a closer look at Corporate Ethics might reveal issues they can have a more direct influence upon?

Yeah, because the 'governement' is such a poster child of ethical behavior
Maybe they should clean up their act first.

Governments need to get it together
Governments need to get it together.
While we wait for that to happen, everyone who does not want to get cyberstabbed, cyberscammed or cyberjacked needs to unplug their modem and GO OUTSIDE or something.
