I don't think itis a matter of greed. Ego maybe. But he had a right to try to take his idea to greater heights than the $30 million that Google was offering. Remember he also had to pay off his investors. What really went wrong was the execution of the vision. The engineers said it best, they had to make the site work right first and then add features. Whenever I visit a new site, I count to 10, or 20 if I'm really interested in the site, from the time the page first starts loading. If it doesn't load in 10 seconds, I'm off to the next thing. And I have a broadband (cable).
