Vodafone to use C&W Network in Europe

LONDON--Vodafone Group, the world's largest wireless company, said it will use Cable & Wireless' network to send most of its voice data in Europe. The agreement will cover Vodafone's European networks, and the companies said they plan to extend it worldwide. Jon Earl, a spokesman for the Newbury, Berkshire-based Vodafone, declined to comment on how much the agreement is worth or when it will start.

"The agreement is rather vague in terms of scale and revenue, but it should be taken as positive news for Cable & Wireless," said Stephen Scruton, an analyst at HSBC Securities.
