Visto, Rogers link up for wireless e-mail

Wireless e-mail provider Visto announced on Wednesday that it has signed up Canadian cellular company Rogers Communications as a customer. The deal means that Rogers' 5.5 million subscribers will have access to e-mail, calendar and contacts applications on their wireless devices via its MyMail service.

The deal comes on the heels of a similar agreement Visto set up last week with European cellular operator Vodafone. The company has been promoting its service to carriers as an alternative to Research In Motion's BlackBerry service and devices. Visto allows carriers to brand the service as their own and is compatible with more devices.
