I agree, let the gamers police the games
by samwise_gamgees July 14, 2007 12:39 PM PDT
Let me start off by saying that like the story says i am 38 years of age,and have found that since i turned 21 there is not much entertainment offered in this world that i can not fully enjoy and for me gaming is what i enjoy the most.
Now while i have not chosen to have any kids my self my siblings have had children of their own and i am happy to say i am not just an uncle but a uncle to 2 generations and not once have i ever bought one of the kids a game that was not appropriate for thier age group,it was in fct made very easy by the rating system put in place by gamers of our own choice.
In short i guess i am saying "The system works",i for one do not want a bunch of non-game playing stuffed shirts telling me what i can and can not play and therefore ENJOY.
I,like most of you reading this, pay my taxes every year and all i ask is to be able to play some games made for adults to relive some of the stress that builds up from living day to day,i just wish the people we were dumb enough to elect would go find some other sabre to rattle,go ***** about fuel costs being so high,or milk being too exensive for the poor to afford, just leave video games alone.

Do toy guns and not video games plant the actual seeds of violence?
by samwise_gamgees July 14, 2007 12:56 PM PDT
I have always wondered if toy guns plant the seeds of vioence -- think about it before you say NO -- as kids we all played with toy guns and what was one thing we all did?
In the course of paying we aimed the guns AT each other and pulled the trigger and then normally shouted BANG you're dead john doe,not nce but countless times, that if looked at in a broad sense should scare the hell out of any one as it is a text book case of learning a behavior that could easily make the small jump from toy guns to real guns and to be honest many times when one kid shoots another the story always sounds simular "they did not think anyone would get hurt or die for real".
I have never seen or heard of a girl pointing a doll at someone and yelling "BANG,i shot you",it just never happens and really never will because dolls are not seen as weapons like a gun is,but then again the brat dolls are coming underfire now because they are turning girls into ***** --- I think toys all need to be banned!!!!!!
sounds just like congress with video games when all that needs to happen is PARENTS need to be parents and tell their kids what is right and wrong.
