It seems natural that one could incorporate advertisements into social networks easiest if you can create set starting/stopping points in at least SOME pages - for example, existing social networking sites that incorporate video (consider <a class="jive-link-external" href="http://www.vobbo.com/" target="_newWindow">http://www.vobbo.com/</a> as an example) would allow you to combine social networking features and the starting/stopping advertising points - by adding a feature such as video as the focus of the social network, you add an effective avenue for injecting advertisements into a social network full of prime spenders.
