Verizon users get Yahoo Messages

Verizon Wireless subscribers will be able to check e-mail, read news and send instant messages to each other through Yahoo, the companies said. Verizon Wireless spokesman Jeffrey Nelson declined to disclose terms. The agreement will give Verizon Wireless customers access to Yahoo's instant messenger program, which enables instantaneous e-mail messaging over the Internet, and to news and information. The services should be available on Verizon cell phones within a few weeks, Nelson said.
