Verizon, CBS strike Fios TV content deal

Verizon Communications is continuing development of its Fios TV interactive service through a content deal with CBS. The deal includes analog, digital, multicast and high-definition rights to programming on CBS owned and operated stations and the CBS Television Network. The new CBS content will be added to the boxes of current Fios TV subscribers and become part of the regular Fios TV content package for future users.

"With each subscriber that Verizon's Fios TV adds, CBS will directly benefit, and therefore, we look forward to our partnership as Verizon showcases our programming...across the country," CBS CEO Leslie Moonves said in a statement. Fios TV, which is still in the early stages, is currently available only in select areas in seven states.
