The Megahertz PC Card ISDN modem--also referred to as an ISDN terminal adapter--will allow users to access online services or corporate networks at up to 128 kbps.
ISDN has a reputation for being hard to install. U.S. Robotics (USR) plans to counter this by offering customers a toll free number to call. Callers will get help finding an ISDN service, determining service charges, coordinating line installation and service orders, and verifying that the line is installed properly.
USR says that the ISDN Model U and Model S/T PC Cards support a number of compression and communication protocals, allowing connection at a variety of locations. The company says that international ISDN switch support is provided for Australia, Europe, and Japan.
The estimated street price of the ISDN Model U is $399. The ISDN Model S/T, designed for use in international locations, will have an estimated price of $359.
