Transitive, a start-up whose software translates a program written for one type of computer so it can be run on another types, has hired Ian Robinson as vice president of marketing. The company previously was director of solutions marketing for VMware.
Transitive's QuickTransit product is used in conjunction with products from Intel, Apple Computer, Silicon Graphics and IBM.
