HD-DVD will win, anyways

Both of these "new" formats are really not a big deal anyways. First, both contain lots of new DRM to restrict users what we can do. Second, the improvements in quality will not be worth the hassle and cost over current DVD. Third, Hollywood will try and force this new format onto consumers to get the benefit of the new DRM.

At least HD-DVD lets you rip the movie on the hard drive, even though it's still filled with DRM.

IMO, both of these new formats will not take off and will lose in the long run as people realize it's not worth the expense.

Toshiba is late to the war....

..... and it's over before they get a chance to shoot. The HD-DVD
was a mediocre idea designed to appease the current DVD
publishers. It was a cheap solution - and that was it's downfall.
Cheap but too small, old technology, and old mind set. But, it was a
shot, just not a good one. And the world is passing Toshiba by.

Just what does Toshiba make anymore in he consumer electronic
area?
