Dell whacks prices on select notebooks, desktops
May 1, 2006
Toshiba, the official IT sponsor of this year's FIFA World Cup, is offering massive laptop rebates if England claims the trophy for the first time since 1966.
If England prove victorious--broken metatarsals notwithstanding--anyone who's bought a Toshiba notebook based on Intel Centrino Duo chip will get 66 percent of the purchase price refunded, in "an unprecedented opportunity to benefit from the success of the national team in Germany."
Anyone wishing to take part in the promotion will need to buy their new kit and register it at www.toshiba.co.uk/66 before the tournament kicks off on June 9.
David Meyer reported for ZDNet UK.
