Tired of Gates' Linux assertion
Not to get cranky about it, but I'm getting tired of Bill Gates' favorite Linux talking point: "There's all these incompatible Linux versions floating around."
To hear Bill tell it, the versions are completely incompatible. If that's true, why do I only see software applications labeled "for Linux" as opposed to "for Red Hat," "for Mandrake," or "for SuSE?" I have yet to find a software application that requires a specific distribution.
Of course, he could be talking about major version differences. But then again, that'd be the pot calling the kettle black, wouldn't it?
