Sun paid $49 million for SevenSpace

Sun Microsystems disclosed Friday that it paid $49 million in cash for SevenSpace, a company whose technology is expected to boost Sun's remote-monitoring and management services. The server and software company completed the acquisition in January but only disclosed the acquisition price in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Friday.

Also in the filing, Sun lowered its reported net income for its most recent quarter. When the company first reported results in January for its quarter ended Dec. 26, Sun said its net income was $19 million. But additional accounting adjustments required the company to revise the figure to $18 million. Earnings per share weren't affected.
